3D

Jeffrey Katzenberg, chief executive at DreamWorks Animation, thinks that 3D movies are about to become "the single most revolutionary change since color pictures" and that 3D movies "could boost a slow-growing U.S. box office."  Is it possible that 3D movies, originating in the mid-20th century with various attempts to revitalize the production of genre films and failing miserably at achieving popular success, could be the answer to fears that the shrinking DVD window will drive audiences out of theaters?  I guess we'll see if DreamWorks comes up with anything worthwhile, but I'm not holding my breath.
